I recently had a little nostalgia trip through Ebay looking up several of my favorite toys from my childhood. I found my Steve Austin doll (complete with “Bionic eye action”), my Jane West doll (From the Johnny West collection) and I was reminded of the countless hours I spent playing ‘cars’ with an empty scotch tape dispenser and an Avon Cologne Bottle.
But by far the one image that most stirred my old passions was this one:

(As I recall, mine had fringy plastic things streaming from the handlebars and a lever-brake on one back wheel that would cause you to ‘spin-out’ in a really cool way.)
I owned the sidewalks, the dirt alleyway behind my grandparent’s house and even the steep winding road down from the cemetery hill behind my house. (It also made it down the side of the hill, through the grass and rocks, on more than one occasion.) It took a couple of years to fully wear holes through the plastic back tires, but by then I was riding a regular 2-wheeled bicycle. Man, I really LOVED that ride!
Good times. Good times.

But………Can it top the Green Machine;….It could be a toss up. Dual lever action for an even better spin out!!! You got to give it some props!!!
And by the way I beat Ray!!!

Totally True Bro! You absolutely had a sweeter ride than I. I remembered the GM in my nostalgia trip and must say I had plenty of good times on that one as well. Between those, the skateboards, our numerous bikes and motorbikes we knocked out a TON of great miles in the ol’ MT.

You had TOYS? How lucky. We were too poor to have toys. Every third Christmas we’d get a box some toy came in. And, we were happy to get it.

OMG–my brother had that same Big Wheel, I think! And my Wonder Woman doll could have dated your Steve Austin doll. Hee.
Me, I was a big fan of the Sit-and-Spin. And that plastic tether with the loop on one end (to go around your ankle) and a plastic lemon on the other, that you’d jump over. Nobody ever believes me when I talk about that thing.
