A local news investigation has found that the city of Dallas, Texas depends upon short yellow timing to maximize red light camera profit. Of the ten cameras that issue the greatest number of tickets in the city, seven are located at intersections where the yellow duration is shorter than the bare minimum recommended by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), KDFW-TV found.

First of all… This does NOT qualify as a fortune. Second…It’s a little insensitive after a big, hearty meal. Even if I will be hungry again in an hour.

Along with my new job transition there is also a ton of political corporate bullshit brewing and spewing and sputtering at the office. Perhaps that makes for interesting tales to tell…but sometime you just get so sick of being in the shit that you really don’t feel like talking about it, much less blogging about it and giving it additional life. harumph.

Can someone please look into the DSM IV and tell me what the clinical diagnosis is for an individual who can not grasp the concept that other individuals do NOT reside in HER mind, nor are they privy to her private thoughts and actions. I have a client with this disorder.
Last week she sent me an e-mail and asked me to get her something that looked just like what she was holding in her hand. Now today I received and e-mail asking me what she had just done wrong with a file. SHE WORKS IN A DIFFERENT BUILDING. How should I know?
(Now this is not a case of “Devil Wears Prada” where she simply delights in assigning the impossible, etc. My client just seems unaware.)
Perhaps I am taking it all wrong and the truth is…she has at last realized that I am omniscient! Only, I’m also malicious enough to keep my great talents hidden and refuse to help her.

I need to blog consistently over the next few days, just to move that damn spinning chick into the archives.
She’s starting to make me nauseous!

My co-worker left for maternity leave just a few days before her baby was due. Of course we all had a baby shower for her and we kept up on the details of her pregnancy and everyone was really excited for her. A week or so before she left she experienced some medical challenges that could have effected her delivery/birth. Needless to say we were all anxious to hear the news. A week past. No news. Another week. Still no news. By the third week we had all begun to fear the worst. Several colleagues sent inquiring messages to both her and her husband. No response. We feared the worst.
That was almost 3 months ago and she is due back to work tomorrow. The problem is…she just sent a message to 2 of my colleagues and indicated that “She’s fine, the baby is fine. Things are great at home and she’s surprised how time has flown. Can’t wait to see you all.”
Now is it just me or does that BLOW every unspoken, social convention around new babies?!?!?! No birth announcement, no pictures, no “everything’s fine”, nada!

Leviticus 19:19 [REVISED] Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee: neither shall a garment mingled of ninety-nine percent cotton and one percent spandex come upon thee, especially such garments as are sewn into jeans. That shall be an abomination unto you.

Pride – Knowing exactly what to do to solve a plumbing problem
Frustration – Not having the upper body strength to accomplish the task
Acquiescence – Watching the plumber muscle thru what you tried and couldn’t
(props to lighting guy…thanks for letting me borrow your key. at least that part worked.)
