December 2006

So I’m not even 40 yet, it is New Year’s eve and my greatest ambition for the night is to see if I can stay awake long enough to witness midnight. Exciting, eh. Well I guess at least I have this creeping grunge for an excuse.
Out with the old and in with the new, I say.
Happy New Year’s All.

It’s a good thing that Butterfly is already in such high demand here in Dallas with all the Bendy people, because while I sit like a worn out lump trying to recover and find some semblance of health in this momentarily wretched body of mine, she is busy getting the myriad Dallasites to bend and grow in ways they never knew possible. Not quite what either of us had in mind for this holiday.

(HAPPY B-DAY FLY. Love ya man.)

It’s raining and the lightning outside my window is spectacular. At least outside is not very inviting right now, since I’m still under the weather (no pun intended). Yah, on a day/night like this, it is good to hunker down in your jammies and just look at the rain and wind and storm brewing and be happy in the comfort of your own home.

I wish I had more entertaining news to report (and I will be quite happy once these hollidailies are over…just a few days to go now). But alas, I am still quite down and out, which totally sucks! I hate feeling like a whiner in these posts, and otherwise would not post on a day like today, but I am trying to fulfill my commitment.

Ok, so what is less fun than going to work on Dec. 26? How about staying home from work because you are sick on Dec. 27! Sure there’s not much going on at the office, so I’m not missing anything. But I’m not supposed to be grungy during the ‘holidays’. Ugh!

(Lucky for me Butterfly is an excellent Florence Nightingale.)

Few things can compare with the long droning monotony of going to work in a corporate office on Dec. 26. Egad. I received a total of three work related e-mails (not counting spam) and one phone call (from Butterfly) all day. The good news is that my bejeweled score just keeps getting better and better.

Had a lovely and raucous holiday dinner with Blyss, her family, ‘rangutan and butterfly. As always the food was outstanding, you gotta love a holiday when you can deliver the potatoes to your mouth on a dinner roll and follow it up with a big bite of stuffing. Stick that Dr. Atkins. And as usual the entertainment was loud, wild and very amusing. Merry Christmas every one.

Christmas eve….shopping for shoes…eating Chinese….gotta love this country.
Smell like frankincense….filled with warm memories….butterfly waiting close by.
Heart space expanding….every breath different than the one before than the one to come…every inhale, every exhale new - an ecstatic receiving, an ecstatic releasing…an experience of the perfect oneness….reeling with the divine.

I’m off to the airport to pick up Butterfly for a Holiday visit. (It’s not 50 words, but its all I have to say right now.)

More about me from the Chinese Perspective (according to a couple different web sources): [I am an Earth Rooster]

People born in the year of the Rooster are usually very observant. They are brave, resilient, sexy, and tenacious but can also be quite self-absorbed, pretentious, and overly romantic. Most of the time, they are very accurate and precise with their observation.

They love entertaining friends and adore meeting new people, and even unexpected and uncertain circumstances are not a barrier for them. Roosters are happiest when they are surrounded by others, at a party or just a social gathering. They even enjoy the spotlight and will exhibit their charisma and wit in a minute.

They are sociable and love to receive attention. Others may criticize them for being exhibitionists but the fact that they are compassionate, wise, and have a brave nature which comes to the fore when others need their help, makes up that deficiency.

It is difficult for these people to accept advice because of their strong independent spirit. These people are often confident in their own judgements and choices. There are times when these people may be too straight-forward which can cause some problems in relationships with others. So it would be wise sometimes not to express their opinions in order to keep the peace. Outwardly confident, the Rooster is also a trustworthy, hardworking individual.
