Tomorrow [at 4:30am - via hired car, even I don’t expect that sort of insanity from my friends] I leave for San Fran. After a couple days of finalizing details and making last preparations Butterfly and I will be driving back to Dallas with her stuff and Ovid, the poetic feline.
The strange synchronicity that neither of us planned or expected is that according to a recently unearthed reciept from years ago, we will be leaving FOR Texas on the same day she left FROM Texas so many years ago.
The sadly premature death of a notorious quasi-celebrity (name supplied on request), bumped the first feed of (Network news show) and its coverage of the (truly significant political/national/global/environmental) event.
Maybe I’m just a naive optimist. I still love to see it when people don’t just scream about the system, but actually try to DO something to change it.
You can sit on your ass all day and feel righteous because you KNOW the whole thing is broken. But at the end of the day…it will still be broken, and you’ll still be on your ass.
At least if you act and succeed, you learned and maybe changed something in the process.
